Greetings,
As the title suggests I have a Corsair 100i radiator and i'm putting it in a Corsair 760T case. I plan to use the fans as an intake, so bringing air from the top of the fan into the case. I have a few questions and I'm hoping some people have played around with configurations of different fans so I can just buy one set and not two to try things out.
I'm overclocking my processor, but not to the extreme. The current stock fans run usually around 1100rpm. I'm only running 2 currently in my 600T case because i have no room for push/pull. When I play games, they ramp up to about 18000rpm and ooh the nose. So I'm looking for reasonable air flow while keeping things quiet.. so:
1. If i add two fans for a push / pull config, the fans should be able to run at a lower RPM because there are two additional fans to help with cooling?
2. While I understand that Corsairs SP 120 fans they are similar:
-Corsairs Air Series High Static fans
Static pressure 1.46 mmH20
Air flow 57.24 CFM
sound 26.4 dBA
RPM 1650
- Corsair SP120 Quiet
Static Pressure 1.29 mm/H20
Air flow 37.85 CFM
Sound 23.0 dBA
RPM 1400
So would it be just as good to get the Air Series High Static fans for lower noise and about the same stats as the SP 120 quiet edition? I understand the SP120 is rated to be less noisy but they have lower max RPM and it is my understanding that at the same speed the Air Flow is quieter than the SP.
3. Bottom line I would love to go with the Air Flow fans (WITH LED!) on my h100i but i'm not sure if they are made for radiators. Would they work as effectively while keeping the noise down as the SP 120? The SP seems to be more designed for this purpose.
Whatcha all think?
