problem with the raptor h340 microphone

Ok well i recently bought this headset and the speakers are fine as in the headset seemed to work at first, but when i tried to talk to my friends and tried out my microphone it was horrible, it sounded like i was at the sea, a sea of background noise!!

so i thought il just install the drivers, so i got the drivers installed and absolutely no difference. please help me as this was a pretty expensive piece of equipment
