TL;DR:
Is there a way to save the lighting/macro profiles on the keyboard itself so that it can be run with hardware playback and with the CUE process closed?
First things first. This product, hardware and asthetic-wise is the thing i've been waiting for since forever. But the experience of trying to get this thing to even be recognized by a computer was a chore, i had to plug it into 4 different computers, and was finally able to get the firmware to update.
My main issue here is that even after i got the keyboard to work, it doesn't stay that way for long. After about 3-4 hours of having it work fine, the lights suddenly hold still and do not respond to the profile. The profile keys, macro keys as well as the indicators (caps lock, scroll lock etc) also stop working.
This is random and i guess i can deal with it, but what's really upsetting is that this keyboard was marketed as a "gaming" keyboard, however, the software conflicts with almost every MMO i've tried with it. The game either crashes the CUE or renders all of the macro keys dead. Sometimes, the game will work if I kill the CUE process before i launch the game, but then the keyboard becomes just an oversized and overpriced normal mechanical keyboard.
I realize that the software had issues when i bought the product, but i wasn't expecting it to be this bad, I know that they are currently working on a new firmware that may help to solve this issue but in the mean time, Is there a way to save the light profiles to the keyboard itself, so that they work without the CUE being opened?
edit: this post was written 5 minutes after a restart - everything worked fine out of game. Didn't do anything except open the browser and begin to write a thread.
a few moments after i submitted the thread, the lights froze - but this time, CUE still recognizes that the K95 is connected.
Macros at this point still work, but the indicator lights, lock, brightness key, and M -keys do not.
I tried to run a game at this point (TERA online). Usual thing happens, game freezes and returns a unexpected error when a key on the k95 is pressed.
at this point, i try to restart CUE to see if it would even recognize that the k95 is plugged in. Upon restarting CUE, it doesn't recognize the k95.
only way to recover functionality of the keyboard at this point, out of everything ive tried, was to restart
