I am building a new editing PC with an Intel i7 5960X CPU and Asus X99-E WS MB. For the RAM I have chosen Corsair's Vengneance LPX DDR4 2400 MHz 64 GB kit (not two seperate kits as I understand you should buy just one kit, as to make sure it's all properly matched).
All the parts are here and I will be building the PC on Wednesday, however I have a question about running the RAM in XMP and the performance impact if I don't. Basically I've been reading various posts on various forums with people saying they've had premature failures of their systems, seemingly after enabling XMP. As this PC is primarily an editing machine I value stability highly.
What do you think the performance impact will be if I don't enable XMP?
