Corsair Wireless H2100 static/hissing

Hi, i just purchased a corsair H2100 wireless headset, which works great. Well for the most part atleast.

I have a few problems i am unsure about, to start with when the headset is initially turned on(or off while charging) it has a very subtle but noticeable hissing sound, which is hardly bothering me but i am unsure if the headset is defective as it is not the only issue.

The other issue i am having with this headset is when i start for example a song and then pause it, it has a noticeable loud hissing(not sure if static because it is a smoother sound rather than crackling) and this sound gets louder when the headset is turned up, although on 0% volume it is still there but not when it gets muted?

Both these problems occur no matter where i am in the house, regardless if it is fully charged, half charged or flat and regardless if it is currently charging.

Another problem is when the volume is on 0% i can still partially hear audio that is playing but when i mute it stops, this doesn't seem right to me.

The mic for a stage was very crackly and not understandable although that has now seemed to fix itself and for the most part while audio is actually playing the static / hissing is usually unhearable but in some circumstances the audio is crackly and sounds of poor quality.

I have spent a fair amount of time searching google and these forums for a solution, tried all recommended fixes and nothing has worked. i did see a post by what looked like corsair staff saying to RMA a headset with similar problems, any help would be greatly appreciated in identifying my next step whether that be RMA or ...

Another thing to note i have only tested the headset on one pc, which is my laptop as i am currently staying away from home. my laptop is an Asus transformers book TP500L is that helps at all, my operating system is Win 8.1
