I have the HX 750W PSU for more then 5 years now (purchased in 2010), and few days ago I noticed that my system is noticeably louder compared
to the usual.
After some testing I determined that the reason of the noise is the PSU fan. Ihave all fans in the case connected to the fan controller (watercooling)
and when turned down to 0 the noise was still present. Next the pump was disconnected and the noise was still there.
According to a thread on this forum (http://ift.tt/1KtRHpS) it seem possible that the fan thermal controller
has died. The fan starts loud as soon as the system is turned on, and the noise does not change if idle or under load.
Is there any way I can check if this is indeed the issue, before shipping the PSU to warranty service?
