I've just installed my H100i, well I installed it two days ago to be exact. I've listed my components in my profile, but I'll give a brief run down.
I'm running an i5-2500k on an ASUS P8Z77-V mobo. GTX 670 and 8GB of RAM.
My idle temps seem high for this cooler. It's around 38-41C at stock clocks, it's 39-44C with my chip OC'ed to 4.5Ghz at 1.35 VID. I've turned off turbo mode and have undervolted it from 1.1 VID to 1.0 VID and my idle temps are from 33-41C.
Under load during Prime95 with stock clocks my chip reached 64C after close to 5 hours. With the OC as stated above my chip reached 74C in about 30 minutes. In Shadows of Mordor with the OC, my chip never went higher than 51C with about 30 minutes of gameplay. I maxed out every setting in the game. I've yet to try Dragon Age Inquisition as it was updating and my internet connection is rather slow. I'm running off of DSL.
My pump displays that is running at 2235 RPM at the time of this posting. Everything is set to performance.
My temps at load seem fine. I was running a Hyper 212+ where my CPU at stock would 55-56C during a long session of gaming. I'm wondering if perhaps I should reseat my pump or perhaps I need better control over my case fans. Maybe I should run it in pull instead of push, but I don't see that making much a difference in temps at all. With my chip and from what I have read it seems that I should be idling within the low to mid 20's. I do live in South Texas though. For reference my Hyper 212+ would idle at 30-33C at stock clocks. Also I should mention that I use Arctic Silver 5. Also the inside my case does feel slightly warm, my H100i feels cool, the pump, the tubes feel about room temp or luke warm.
What say ye, fellow Corsair H100i owners or really anyone who knows a great deal on coolers. Am I fine and should I not worry about the idle temps or should I?
I use HWinfo64 as my monitoring tool, maybe I should try some others. I've had issues with HWmonitor reading too high. But perhaps I should download CoreTemp or some such?
