very confused about what kit i have...

So I upgraded my laptop about 6months ago from 8gb stock to 16gb.

i purchased 2 x 8 gb sticks (vengence corsair) and everything was working fine.



there were some issues with my laptop so warranty paid me out.



i purchased the MSI GE60 Apache Pro that comes with 8Gb of Ram stock.



i want to use the corsair 2x8gb kit i bought in my new laptop but i am getting confused.



when i run CPU-Z on my old laptop it tells me i have 16gb of memory but the part number for each memory stick (slot 1 and 4) is CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9..



when i search CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9 only 2x4gb kits come up... i know corsair say i need the CMSX16GX3M2B1600C9, but i am not quite sure how i got 2x8gb with a part number of CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9 if that kit is 2x4GB..



i opened the service panel of the old laptop to check the label just incase CPU-Z was reading them wrong and the stickers on each ram stick says "CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9"...



is this an older part number for 2x8gb or ram? i have no idea what's going on and i don't want to waste money if i have the right ram sticks ..
