Corsair k70 rgb not recognized by computer

Hey whats up guys!

So I was wondering if I could get some help finding out if I got a dud keyboard OOTB or if something is wrong on my end.

To begin with my brother just bought me this keyboard and I got it in the mail yesterday. I plugged it into my comp and my computer said it was not recognized. It lights up but cannot type.

I downloaded the utility and that says there is no device attached and I cannot update firmware because that also says no device. I plugged them into both 3.0 and 2.0 usb with the same results. Lights working but cannot type.

I have a logitech keyboard that works and I am using to type this. It works fine.
