K65 RGB Lights turn off when CUE is closed

Is there a way around this? Originally when I bought the keyboard lights would turn on as long as the keyboard is plugged in. Now, the keyboard's lights turn off when CUE isn't open, either when it's closed, or when my system starts up, at the time before CUE automatically opens. Is there a way around this? While the lights are off, the keyboard itself still works.
