The main Computer shuts down because:
Power supply surges detected during the previous power on.
ASUS Anti-Surge. was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit!
The computer then boots into BIOS to Reset.
I exit BIOS. The computer boots into Windows 8.1 as though the previous incident never happened.

This problem and variations of it, has and is being reported by many in several
forums with a wide variety of possible solutions mentioned.
To date, we have not received a definative answer.
The Mother board blames the PSU and the UPS and the local ac supply source.
The PSU blames the mother board and around and around it went.
Some of the replies we received from forums related to the suspect components
suggested fear of a warranty claim. All we asked for and wanted was the cause so we
could repair it. That never happened.
Although I believe the PSU is still under warranty, in the interst of time
I will purchase a replacement from a local distributor. That should have been
done July 20th after all this started rather than waste all this time.
