^ In light of that, I wonder if it would be possible for companies like Corsair to release a utility that would reflash the device's firmware? Perhaps even a hardware utility with a read-only firmware itself so that it could safely reflash the firmware without getting infected itself?
I wonder if, say, Corsair products could have locked firmwares that could only be unlocked using a "firmware update dongle" that you plug into your thumb drive, then plug into your computer?
