SP2500 EOL (End of Life)

Anyone know why they are going EOL?

Apparently it's because Corsair are moving away from 2.1 audio. Is this true? The SP2500's are so well reviewed and I'd definitely look forward to an upgrade from my beautiful SP2500's..
