Corsair HX850 Question re ATX12V1

I have a ASRock Z77 Pro mb. There's an 8 pin connector labeled ATX12V1. Is the EPS12V power lead compatible with this connector? Do I need power to this connector?



I don't have any plans to overclock the mb or use multiple GPUs.
