I cant backspace or type the same leter twice in a row?

Even if i wait a long time, i cant hit the same leter twice in a row for some reason.

Also my keyboard makes a 'tink tink tink' sound with each leter i type (from my headphones, meaning the computer thinks i want it to do that).

any help?
