Lighting explanation

Hello Corsair forum!



I just got my K70 RGB (Cherry MX Red) in the mail from NewEgg yesterday, and am very excited to have it! After tinkering with the CUE software and checking through the manual (and watching many, many youtube tutorials), I've gotten a pretty good grasp on the CUE software. There are a few questions though, that I couldn't quite figure out on my own, so I wanted to see if anyone else knew the answers.

• I know lighting (including type lighting) is profile specific, and doesn't span across different profiles. Is this the same for modes? (Outside of type lighting, which is profile specific lighting)


• Is there any difference between right clicking a group of keys and selecting "Assign New Lighting", vs. creating a new light via the Lighting tab, and dragging it onto a group of keys?


• Lastly, when creating groups for keys and assigning lighting to them, is the lighting assigned to each key within the group, or the group itself? I guess what I mean is, if I assign a group for WASD, and a group for QWERTY, and assign 2 different light patterns for each, will they override, or simply combine?

Sorry for all the random questions, but I want to understand this as best as I can :)
