500r Power Button Problem

Lately my computer has a tendency to not turn on at all when i push the power button. I've had the 500r case for about a year and a half. I think the problem might just be the button itself/the front control panel because I can just slap the side to get the button working. There are no problems while the computer is running and all the other front panel functions work, but I figure I should replace the front panel so I don't hit my computer too much.

Anyone think that the problem might involve something other than the front control panel? Really looking for a second opinion before I buy and install another panel.
