I bought a new Corsair RM1000 for my nephew's computer so he could use my old AMD Radeon 7970. The video card requires a 6 pin and 8 pin connector for power.
The RM1000 comes with a cable configuration that I have never seen before: two X 6 + 2 connectors on the same cable. Previously I've always had to use separate cables for each of the 6 pin and 8 pin power jacks on the video card. So with the RM1000 can I simply connect one of these cables to the video card, utilizing one connector for the 6 pin jack and the other connector for the 8 pin jack?
The reason I'm asking is that I want to be safe, to be sure I'm not overloading a single cable.
