Yeah, I knew this could be a problem right when I got this thing in the mail. What Corsair has done to the side panels at first seems nice. The mouse, where your thumb and pinky rest, has a nice sandpaper-like feel to it. The clickers and middle part are the only parts made of the rubberized spray that wicks away most moisture.
Well, that went fast. After 1.5 months I am wearing down this compound and LO AND BEHOLD the surface has become stickier and shinier and will only get worse. Luckily for me I am just getting a refund from Amazon.
And don't think it is just Corsair who cannot seemingly manage to use ONLY the sprayed rubber compound on their ENTIRE mouse. They all do this for some reason. At this point I am starting to think it a conspiracy for us to buy new mice.
At any rate this new compound they are using on their mice is dog**** as observed. Doesn't even hold up past 3 months much less the 1.5 I have had it. My thumb is now feeling like my pinky did on my last CM Havoc, sticky and gross though it isn't terrible yet, not that I will be around to wait until it gets terrible.
So really this thread exists so Corsair can see these complaints and start using a damn rubberized compound on the entire mouse. Sure, your grandma might not play with the mouse long enough to notice the degradation of material, but regular users will eventually. Failure of design.
